We're excited to share these 3 new illustrations that Livia Cives recently completed. Livia is from Rome, Italy, where she lives and works, and she has definitely been keeping herself busy creating new images this summer!

This first piece is titled "Holidays", and we love the vintage summery feel it has:

The Illustration and Claymation world of Christophe Lopez-Huici

Jennifer Vaughn Artist Agency welcomes French-born, New York resident, Christophe Lopez-Huici to the group! With clients such as Google, Christie's, Pfizer, Atlantic Records, Bill Plympton, as well as a large range of smaller music labels and independent music magazines, Christophe brings yet another layer of style, skills, and personality to the team.

His illustration approach has a hint of the very traditional French 'bande dessinées' (cartoon), while retaining a clear unique personality and presence:

Some of his animation / claymation projects include a 7 minute-long animated sequence for the documentary Mamachas Del Ring. The movie has been screened in many festivals worldwide, including Slamdance and the Margaret Mead film festival in NY. His own animated short, Mondo Claymo has been in festivals all over the country and was shown at the Festival de Cannes's Short Film Corner in May 2011 --- here is a peek:




You can also check out Christophe's super-cool music magazine, Bananas Magazine, which he created collaboratively with 4 friends in late 2009 – it is now distributed in 12 countries!

Santiago Uceda - 2012 Oregon State University TV Spot

Santiago Uceda's work is seen in the latest TV spot for Oregon State University, where he created all of the illustration and, helped with two other artists, animation. He was also the lead creative on the project, did all the story boards, animatic and led the brainstorming sessions.

From his own words:
"We have a small team so we end up taking on multiple roles that would normally be done by several Creatives at an agency. It was all done in-house (script, voice over) except for music which was licensed from a local band."

Santiago Uceda wins awards for Oregon State University animations

Santiago Uceda and his team at Oregon State University won the gold in the CASE Awards for their TV spots - Santiago co-directed the spots, did all of the illustration and tackled the animation process with the help of his team.  CASE is the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and for those in academia it's the equivalent of what Communication Arts or the Print annual are for us creatives  :)

Livia Cives illustration on depression in NuRant Magazine

Livia Cives illustrated a new piece for the January 2012 issue of Nu(r)ant magazine, which focuses on different points of view of the apocalypse.
The article illustrated by Livia was about a personal apocalypse in which the main character, a young girl, was on the brink of collapse thinking about her life.
Livia chose to portray the character as being dragged to the bottom of the ocean attached to a mine, which symbolizes her 'weighted' problems.
