New fashion illustrations by Mariya Paskovsky

Here are some new illustrations by Mariya Paskovsky.  She is using a much more dramatic color palette than we are used to seeing in her work, and we're loving the bold contrast of the black background and the intense colors. Mariya created this series as a proposal for the graduation fashion show poster of UQAM: École supérieure de mode de Montréal.

The first illustration is simply  an image of a fashionista with a lot of details, fashion
accessories, etc.  The other two images are based on what Mariya considers to be the most significant points in the history of men's and women's fashion.  As Mariya describes them - for women: "the 1920's, when the skirts and hair suddenly became short"... and for men: "the 60's and 70's, when the plain and boring suit was suddenly was transformed to a bright, colorful, creative, and very young look..."

Shoe illustrations by Mariya Paskovsky

Mariya Paskovsky has been exploring illustrating objects in addition to her signature images of fashionable people with long, flowing lines...and so she decided to start with shoes.  She has a series of other objects that we will share with you soon, but we thought it would be fun to start by showing you some of Mariya's latest shoe creations which, as expected, are full of wonderful patterns and intricate details.  Enjoy!

19th Century Ladies Fashion illustrated by Mariya Paskovsky

Mariya Paskovsky has recently been working on some illustrations that explore the theme of 19th century ladies fashion. After reading Alexandre Dumas's Le Comte de Monte-Cristo, Mariya decided to try her hand at some ultra-vintage fashion looks:

In Mariya's own words,
"Greatly inspired by old 19th century fashion magazine engravings, I decided to create those dresses respecting patterns, decorations, silhouettes, lines, styles and techniques of that time. I think it is just a beginning of my very new collection of historic fashion illustrations, for I find great pleasure in studying and sketching these sometimes rather funny looking but still extremely beautiful skirts, gloves, hats, fans, corsets, umbrellas, shoes ….
