Holiday illustrations - part 1

We hope that you are all enjoying a wonderful holiday season!  It always takes a little while to get back into the swing of things after the holidays, so we've decided to keep it light and just give you some post-Christmas / pre-New Year's eye candy for Christmas Week.  Enjoy!

Questioning a Doctor's Loyalties - illustration by Kim Rosen

From Kim Rosen's Blog:

Chris Buzelli illustration for NPR's 2012 calendar

Chris Buzelli, an avid NPR listener, was invited to participate in their 2012 calendar. Every year NPR chooses 12 artists to illustrate each month. Chris' piece was based on his favorite RadioLab episodes called "New Nice" which was about a Russian geneticist who domesticated the fox. After several generations of selective breeding, he was successful in creating a gentler, human-friendly pet fox.
Keep an eye out for this new 2012 calendar which is available for purchase from NPR.

Martha Rich's Delicious Art

Martha Rich is one of four artists in a mixed media "pop-up" exhibit that just opened.   Food Lust: Shock Candy transforms a full city block of store front windows in the heart of Brooklyn.  This is the first exhibit curated by the new pop-up gallery Where Am I.  Martha created a bunch of new work based on the theme of food, and here is a glimpse of what can be seen gracing those store fronts for the next month... yum!

Chris Buzelli for Asian Reader's Digest

This new Chris Buzelli illustration was for Reader's Digest Asia. It was a true story about a man named Mike who was kidnapped and buried alive for 5 days. Ants were biting his hands and eyelids while he was buried in small box in the ground. He lost 23 pounds but was eventually rescued by a inquisitive cop.

Portrait of Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings by Kim Rosen

Wonderful portriat of Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings by artist Kim Rosen.

From Wikipedia:
"Gillian Welch (/ˈɡɪliən ˈwɛltʃ/; born October 2, 1967) is an American singer-songwriter. She performs with her musical partner, guitarist David Rawlings. Their sparse and dark musical style, which combines elements of Appalachian music, Bluegrass, and Americana, is described by The New Yorker as "at once innovative and obliquely reminiscent of past rural forms"
